Privacy Policy
RupyaOff ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use rupyaoff.com, how it's used, and your rights.
What we collect
- Anonymous usage data: pages visited, browser type, approximate geographic region (city-level), referring URL. Collected via standard server logs and (if enabled) lightweight analytics.
- Affiliate click tracking: when you click a store link, the receiving store's affiliate network sets a cookie to attribute the click. This is set by the partner store, not by us.
- Contact form submissions: if you email or submit a form, we retain your message and your email address only for as long as needed to respond.
What we don't collect
- We don't require accounts or signups.
- We don't collect payment information of any kind.
- We don't sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for marketing.
Cookies
We use minimal first-party cookies for site functionality (e.g. remembering your dark-mode preference). Third-party cookies may be set by affiliate networks when you click out to a store. You can block all cookies in your browser settings without breaking core site functionality.
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services that may receive limited data about your visit:
- Vercel (hosting) — receives standard HTTP request data including IP address
- Google Analytics 4 — aggregate traffic measurement. We enable IP anonymisation.
- Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) — heatmaps and session replay. Clarity records how pages are used: clicks, scrolling, mouse movement and page navigation, replayed as an anonymised reconstruction of the visit. It is used to find usability problems, not to identify you. Clarity masks text entered into form fields by default, so the details you type — including your name and email — are not captured in recordings. Microsoft may process this data outside India. See Microsoft's privacy statement. You can opt out of this and most other analytics by enabling your browser's Global Privacy Control or "Do Not Track" setting, or by using an ad/tracker blocker.
- Brandfetch / Clearbit / Google Favicons — serve store logo images
- unpkg / jsDelivr CDNs — serve front-end JavaScript libraries
- Affiliate networks — Cuelinks, Admitad, CJ etc. when you click store links
Personal data we process with your consent (DPDP Act, 2023)
When you submit your name and email via the unlock bar, gate modal, intent form, or newsletter signup, we process the following personal data on the legal basis of your consent under Section 6 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023:
- Categories of data: name, email address, and (optionally) shopping intent / category / budget you provided.
- Specific purposes: (a) unlocking unlimited coupon reveals on your device; (b) sending you curated coupon and deal updates by email; (c) operational analytics to improve relevance of the deals shown.
- Retention: until you withdraw consent or request deletion. We will then erase the data without undue delay, unless retention is required by law.
- Sharing: we use Loops (Loops Email Inc., United States) and Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France) as Data Processors to store contact details and deliver emails. We do not sell or share your personal data for third-party marketing.
- Cross-border transfer: contact data held in Loops and emails sent via Brevo may be processed on servers outside India. We rely on the recipient country not being restricted by the Central Government under Section 16 of the DPDP Act.
Browser extension
The RupyaOff browser extension asks for your name and email once, on first run. Providing them unlocks the verified coupon list inside the extension and subscribes you to our deal emails. Your consent is recorded with a versioned consent string at the moment you submit the form, and the data is processed on the same legal basis and for the same purposes described in the section above.
What the extension does not collect is as important:
- No browsing history. The pages you visit are never sent to us or to anyone else.
- No page URLs, product data or purchase data. On supported store pages the extension reads the product title and displayed price to match against our public coupon and price datasets, but that matching happens entirely on your device and the result is never transmitted.
- No third-party trackers or analytics inside the extension. Its only network destination is rupyaoff.com.
Your name and email are stored locally in the extension's own storage so it knows you're signed in, and in our email platform as described above. To withdraw consent, use the unsubscribe link in any email or contact us using the details below; you can also remove the local copy by uninstalling the extension.
