Timing your purchase can save you more than any coupon — but only if you know which sales are real and which are noise. Buy the wrong thing at the wrong time and you're paying a convenience tax. Here's when to actually buy across the big categories, and when waiting is just wishful thinking.
The big sale events worth waiting for
These are the flagship sales where the doorbuster deals are usually genuine, especially on electronics and appliances:
- The festive mega-sales (around Sept–Oct) — Amazon's Great Indian Festival and Flipkart's Big Billion Days. The single biggest window of the year for real discounts on phones, laptops, TVs and appliances, with strong exchange and bank offers on top.
